My husband & I are visiting the Amalfi Coast for our 30th Anniversary at the end of May. From reading we decided to stay in Sorrento for our home base & I have booked the hotel Palazzo Montefusso but need to find another place to go for an additional 2 days because the hotel is booked for a portion of our stay. Thoughts are to find something with a sea view? This is our first time to this area & so we are not sure where else we should consider. We are very excited to see this area & check it off our "bucket list"!!!

Positano is great for the sea views. There's a terrific 4-star boutique hotel - Hotel Villa Franca - that sits on the very top of Positano's westernmost hill. It also has a spa, a rooftop pool, and the views from the room terraces are spectacular - you get the mediterranean and the rest of the town.

We loved Positano, stayed at great B&B Villa La Tartania, just five minutes from beach and lovely breakfast room overlooking water. Just be aware it is one long hill from top to bottom. Very steep walking. was still worth it.

You might ask Palazzo Montefusco for a referral to another hotel or B&B. They will probably be able to suggest some other places that are nice. You might also check out the hotel that is on the other side of the courtyard as Palazzo Montefusco (that way you won't have to schlep your luggage very far). It looked nice; we stayed at Palazzo Montefusco this past September and walked by the other place every day. You'll love Palazzo Montefusco; it's wonderful!

If you have to change hotels, I would take those two nights and stay in Positano. Hotel California has awesome views from the balcony rooms.
