Staying in Sicily

I will be traveling to Palermo, Sicily in November with 13 college students. We are trying to find somewhere affordable, but clean, etc. to stay. I have a couple of places in mind, but after reading their reviews on Trip Advisor I am concerned. Does anyone have any suggestions??? Grazie mille!

Hi Kristen: Have you tried an agriturisimo? They are usually not that expensive. Don't forget to visit Monreale for the cathedral...it is just beautiful and don't forget to try the pasticcerie...mmmmmm yum!

Kristen is your itinerary solely based upon Palermo? Or, will your group be traveling? Many options are available but you need to specify your itinerary.

If you strike out on suggestions here, go over to TripAdvisor's forum and ask the resident Sicily expert Vagabonda for assistance. I am sure she can find you the perfect place.

We will really only have time for Palermo as we will only be in Sicily for a weekend.

Kristen, do you have to stay right in Palermo? If not, consider Scopello some 20 minutes to the northwest. Pensione Tranchina could handle your group, and also provide a home-cooked dinner.

Thanks, Ron. I will have to check it out.

I just wanted to stay in Palermo because it seemed easier considering that there are 15 of us and it's the first time I've been to Sicily. I will look into your suggestion, though.

Thanks!

The tourist season in Scopello is over by November. Stay in Palermo with your group.
