staying in Positano Italy

I have heard a number of positive comments about La Tavolozza and would like to stay at this B and B but am concerned about the number of steps to reach it. We also have another option on the beach in Positano " caravella apartments" but can not find any reviews about this place.
We are 2 older couples travelling and stairs/long walks may be an issue. Any suggestions?

All I can say is get a good pair of shoes. My Dad who is in his eighties took his time walking where ever we went in Italy and relax along the way. and with that we enjoyed the beauty of it all and is still talking about it.

Up and downhill walking is unavoidable in Positano, unless you spend your whole time on the beach. It is a very vertical place. We stayed at the very excellent Punta Regina partway up the hill, and the nearby stairway to the beach had over 300 steps. We were in pretty good shape by the time we left Positano! (There's also a mildly steep winding road down to the beach; you don't necessarily have to use the stairways.) I guess my tip would be to do some exercise walking before you go. Be sure to take a side trip to Ravello - it is the most spectacular of a spectacular area.

Thank you for your suggestions....must start walking for practice! Has anyone stayed at the CaravellaMare apartments? They are on the water and we are considering booking. reviews are scarce!
