can you recomend a hotel or an accomnodation for three couples to stay three rooms with en suite facilities. we prefere inside the wall but close to the wall is OK. we will need and elevator or a room on the street level. this is for the first week in October.

Mary, in 2008 we stayed at Hotel La Luna inside the walls. The location was great and the hotel staff were helpful. Our room was small, but very comfortable. Small bathroom as expected. I would certainly stay there again. The location can't be beat! October is the best time to go, you'll love it! Have a great trip!

Check out Al Tuscany, it's also inside the wall. A very central location and very nice. Great breakfast.

I and several others here have praised the Hotel Melecchi which is a block outside of the wallls. Its advantage is large, clean rooms (with baths) and gated parking. It's a family-run place with lower rates than most choices inside the walls. Giovanni, the son, speaks excellent English.
