I am visiting Cinque Terre during the first week of September. If I show up without room reservations, is it possible to find a room to rent for the night?
We are going there midweek the 2nd week in September and I had quite a time finding a room, everything was booked. So I would find a place to stay or you may be out of luck. We booked at Hotel Margherita in Monterosso.
You might try lovely Santa Margarita Ligure for lodging and ferry or train to CT for the day. Best reserve from home, to make sure.
I would think the first week of Sept. would still be a very busy time in the C.T. so I would book ahead. Also who wants to spend their precious time looking for a room. Have been to the C.T. 3x now but always either in June or July. Was just there in July and stayed at Francamaria's Room #1 with a great harbor view.
Re. above posting--Francamaria's rooms are in Vernazza.
I understand there are rooms for rent from private individuals and if you arrive early in the day, you will be able to find something. Best to see the room before you commit.
Personally, I would keep trying to get a reservation.
