We have Villa Balbianello scheduled, and I have Rick's book on Italy, but would you recommend other activities other than boat tours and relaxing? We got those down pat. :-) Thanks!

We will be in Menaggio in September. One of our days there will be spent going from Varenna to Tirano and taking the Bernina Express up to St Moritz. Will return from St Moritz by bus to Chiavenna and then train back to Varenna. Worth considering some version of that if you have not done so already. Long day but we will use local trains so we can hop on off for breaks/lunch/hikes.

In Bellagio avoid the restaurants right on the waterfront as they are not the best food .... travel up hill a little for better options. If you like to hike consider walking over to visit I think its Pescallo cute little town less tourists but a fun walk.
