Our question/concern is the parking. We'll HAVE to drive from an hour away in Tuscany to visit Florence and need some suggestions on where to park, etc so we can walk and tour the city. Unfortnately we'll have to drive our car as close as possible as there is no bus/train from our B&B in Greve. Help!!!??
Here's a link to the Florence tourism board that discusses the limited traffic zones and parking outside of the historic core. You can walk or take a bus from the parking lots.
You may want to drive to Fiesole and park there for the day. There is an easy bus ride to Florence about every half hour. Fiesole is also worth a visit. Here are some sites to investigate.

Thanks Doug, however I'm not finding a link on that site which shows available parking areas/lots, etc.
Suggest you drive to Poggibonsi, park there and take the train in. Driving in Florence is horrific. The main station Santa Maria Novella is very central.Very cheap rail travel. You can look on www.trenitalia.com for an idea of timetables and cost. Remember to stamp you ticket before you get on the train using the little machines on the platforms. There might also be a bus service into Florence from Greve which you B/B will advise. That would be even better. Cheers.
