Staying in a bed and breakfast in the center of Rome

My 2 friends and I are taking a cruise the first of October. We want to go 2 or 3 days earlier to experience Rome. I would love to stay with a couple or single person that rents out rooms. My daughter and I did that throughout France. It was a great way to live the culture. Does anybody have any recommendations of places you have stayed. When I traveled years ago, we always were way out of the city. I don't want to do that this time.

Not a b&b, but why not try something different and almost uniquely Italian. We stayed at the very nice nun-run guesthouse Casa Maria Immacolata. Good location, good price. You don’t need to be Roman Catholic ( I’m not ). Www.monasterystays.com

Personally we prefer to stay on the edge of the tourist area -- Termini area - for the convenient access to transportation - buses, trams, and even the limited subway. A typical B&B may be hard to come by but most hotel serve breakfast. We prefer Hotel Sonya across from the Opera house, a little further away is the Aberdeen -- very nice. Good local restaurants in the area. Also good access for catching the train to your ship.

I don’t think BnBs and cities go together. One time we did find one to stay in and the walls of the place could not keep out the city’s noise.
Save BnB idea for smaller towns, countryside.

Great idea. About 4 years ago we stayed here https://queen.bedsandhotels.com/?lang=en. The owner was lovely, she gave us lots of advice (especially about great local places to eat close by.) The rooms were simple but immaculate and there are, I think, only 3. We never heard any outside noise. And the prices are under $70 per night.
Booking. com says BBQUEEN is located in Rome, 1,650 feet from Roma Termini Train Station. Piazza di Spagna and Trevi Fountain are both 0.9 mi away. Free WiFi is available throughout. Each air-conditioned room comes with an LCD TV, safe and mini-bar. The private bathroom comes with a shower and hairdryer.

Worth a look.
