Staying at Hotel Modigliani in Rome

We are staying the Hotel Modigliani. Not sure if we will walk or take taxi from Termini. Does anyone have any experience with this hotel and restuarants nearby? It is not far from the Spanish Steps. Thanks in advance. Marc

I have my wife and daughter booked into the Hotel Modigliani in early October. For us, it was better rated on www.tripadvisor.com than other hotels very near Termini (i.e. Hotel Sonya). They liked being near the Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and the Borghese Mansion. I'm encougaging them to take a taxi from Termini to the hotel. Can't be too much. The hotel is near a metro stop but they preferred the taxi.

I stayed there last year in February and liked it very much. Breakfast was very good. Take a taxi from Termini - it's uphill from the metro, kind of hard with luggage. They recommended 2 restaurants nearby. I went to both, one was great (Il Giardino), one was lousy (La Scala). There's a Despar (supermarket chain) about a 5-minute walk away, and I bought stuff and ate in a couple of times. The Spanish Steps are a bit of a walk uphill from the hotel, the Trevi Fountain is quite close. I used the metro and buses and had no trouble getting around.
