My current itinerary has me in Florence from the 8th through to the 12th staying within the city with a few day drips planned. After that I’m considering a Agriturismo say from the 12th through to the 15th.
Is this time of the month worth it in that regard? I would assume I don’t want to be driving Tuscan hills at night which would mean being back before dark, really cutting off my days and making dinners tough unless it’s one with a restaurant. For reference, I’ve driven both Madeira and Crete at night without difficulty (solo trips), and will also be solo for this one.
Would I be able to do enough in the daylight hours to feel content? I do need at least some part of this trip being out in nature as the rest of the trip will be Rome with day trips and potentially/likely a night or two stay in Naples in hike Vesuvius (weather dependent).
I suppose the alternatives would be a day or two in other Tuscan village/Umbria, or just going up north to Venice instead.
