We will be visiting the Amalfi Coast in Mid-May. I hear we should stay in Sorrento. We planning on doing a day tour up the coast and have another day to hang out and do what-ever. My question is where should we stay in Sorrento . We would like to be near the town so we can walk around etc. but also stay somewhere serene, etc ...Our budget is approx $100 USD per night. There are 4 of us so either two rooms at a hotel or an apt with separate bedrooms. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

We have stayed twice at the Ulisse Deluxe Hostel---which is more like a hotel with many double rooms w/bath-----it is located centrally within easy walking distance of train station--both marinas and the old town-----they have very reasonable rates and the breakfast is decent---check out their website---it will ease your budget Paul

$100 USD is about 73 euros. If that's your budget per person (so 146 euros per room), you'll have lots of options. If it's per room, you're going to have a big challenge. If it's for all four of you combined, you're hosed.
