Stay 1 night in Lucca or Florence from Pisa

Hello, I will be in Pisa in April around 230pm i want to see the tower then venture on. I was going to go to Lucca for the night and leave early for Venice, but now i am thinking of going to Florence for the night. Ive never been to eather would it be worth a night and morning in Florence just to get a taste of it? Or should i just stick to my plans for the one night in Lucca?

also the hostel in Florence is a few blocks from the train station.

Also in case i change my mind, would you do 1 day florence and 3 in venice or 2 and 2?

i was thinking if i stayed the 1 night in Florence and kept the 3 in Venice I could catch a later train around 2 or 3 pm and at least have a half day to goto the Duomo.

Uness you climb the Torre ( be prepared for a long line) you can walk around it in a few minutes. The real jewel of the Campo is the marvelous cathedral, it would be a crime to miss it. It's free but you have to reserve a timed entry so go to the ticket office as soon as you get there. It closes at 7 and they don't admit people after 6:30 as I recall. The Pisa San Rossore station is the one that's a few minutes walk from the Campo, not Pisa Centrale.
