Starwood in EUR or Hotel Lancelot

We have an opportunity to stay in a Starwood property for 104 euros a night located in the EUR district or the Hotel Lancelot for 186 euros a night; any thoughts?

Of the two I would stay at the Lancelot because the location is much better. The EUR district is great if you're a local but not the place to stay if you are sightseeing every day in the city center.

We stayed at the Lancelot on our first trip to Rome and really were pleased with the hotel and the neighborhood. I love walking by the Coliseum all lit up at night. Mrs. Kahn, the owner, helped me out when my curling iron tripped the circuit breakers. (yes, I had a converter) She loaned me one, then sold it to me so that I could take it on the rest of my trip. It has been back to Italy 3 more times. The room was nice with a view of the Coliseum, breakfast was great, the people were friendly with good recommendations, and the neighborhood was good.

I don't know the Starwood property, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Lancelot!

Thanks for the input, I have been going back and forth on this, the idea of staying in a family owned place is appealing but I also wonder how much we will actually be staying in our room, most of our time will be consumed with sightseeing.
