St. Peters basilica after Easter Sunday mass

Visiting Rome Easter weekend, getting in Saturday. St. Peters Basilica is closing early at 2pm on Saturday due to evening mass, I don't know if I will be able to get there in time. I was wondering if it would be possible or feasible to see if after Sunday mass. As far as google says, the basilica will be open afterwards, but do the crowds leave or will it be impossible to get into the area?

The crowds never leave St. Peter's. I would guess impossible to unbelievably unlikely.

The Pope celebrates Mass at 10AM and at noon gives the 'Urbi et Orbi' Blessing.

The Church will most certainly be devoted to its religious function on Easter.

If you want to be there as a 'tourist', this is not the ideal time.

Thanks for the feedback. I will try to have a terribly hectic disjointed schedule Saturday to see if I can make it
