I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether the St. Peter's rooftop cafe sells any kind of food in addition to coffee and beverages. On the day I will be visiting, we have a 9:00 am Scavi tour booked and then hope to take a seminarian tour of the basilica offered at 2:30. If we leave the premises to go eat, we will have to wait in the long security line to get back in. If the cafe sells food, I was thinking we could make do and fill in the time until the 2:30 tour.
Any advice is helpful.

I believe they do. My family sat there and ate while I climbed the rest of the dome. Also, the gift shop up there is the best in Rome for religious items, including gold.

I agree with Barbara. But we weren't there recently. It's a small place, so expect delays at lunch hour.
