First-time posting! Am I correct in assuming the dome climb is closed during the Papal Audience? My husband and I plan to do an early entry tour to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel from about 7:30 to 9:30/10 depending on the tour we pick on a Wednesday (Papal Audience day). We then plan to see more of the Vatican, find somewhere for lunch, and generally kill time until the Basilica re-opens (internet says around 1:30). Would we be better off coming back first thing the next morning for the basilica (7 am) and dome climb (8 am)? Internet seems to agree the shortest wait time is when it opens at 8 am which, Papal Audience aside, we could not do the same day as an early-entry Vatican visit anyway. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
