St. Peter’s Basilica tickets

Hello!

I am currently planning a trip to Italy in late September, and because everyone and their families are going there this year, I had wanted to plan as much as I can before I get there. So I got a tour for Vatican City that includes everything but the dome climb but still wanted to do that so I bought a “Dome with Stairs” ticket from the Basilica’s website. As I was looking at the voucher I received, it says “ The offer includes a visit to Saint Peter’s Basilica with a Digital Audio Guide (to be completed 90 minutes before the scheduled entry time to the Dome).”

Am I to understand that this ticket includes visiting the Basilica? Of is it just for the dome? If anyone has done this before and could give me some insight, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have only bought a regular dome climb ticket on the spot (during uncrowded times) but entrance to St. Peters is free, so I think they are charging you for the audio guide.

Yes. I think you get access to the Basilica along with the audio guide prior to the start time of your "Dome with Stairs" event.

The ticket price includes the audio guide plus the cost of the Dome event. I am not sure if the 90 minute reference is the "completion" of the Basilica visit as stated or the "beginning" of the Basilica visit.

Just for reference, it costs nothing to enter the Basilica, one must only stand in the line for security, and once in, just walk into the Basilica. The same line gets you to the Crypt and to the line for the Dome tickets.

What you bought is a package that includes the audio guide and the ticket for the Dome (plus some type of snack, and "tour assistance") At 77 euro a person, I think it is a bit steep, maybe a reserved time is worth it, but otherwise, less the audioguide, like I said, St Peters is free, the dome climb is 10 euro.

There is also an option that does include the Museum, St Peters, and the Dome, Maybe that was sold out for your time?
