Has anyone booked St. Peter's Basilica Skip-the-Line Audioguide tour with Rome-Museum.com or getyourguide.com? The tour includes only the ability to skip the line and an audioguide, but it seems the $17.50 or $20 per person might be worth it to avoid standing in the line that I understand can stretch for hours. We have very limited time in Rome, and I think this might be worth it for us. We do not plan to visit the Vatican Museum this trip since my husband and I have already done that tour. Thanks for sharing any experiences you have had with these companies or for other suggestions.
There is no ticket line at the Basilica, only a security line. Everybody has to go through the security checkpoint. How does this audioplayer propose to get you through security?
Does the security line at St. Peters stretch for 'hours' -- not in my experience. Maybe an hour usually much less. Can the tour operator walk in front of everyone else at the security check point? I hope not.
I haven't done one of them but they do have a fast-track line for the advertised, pre-booked tours of the basilica. We've just gone a bit before it opened in the morning and didn't have a long wait at all. The line moves pretty fast.
