St Mark's Basillica Reservations

I have been trying to make a reservation (or at least find out more info - how early I can make the reservation, etc) but keep getting a message on the basillica's website that the online booking service is temporarily suspended (it's been like this since Sunday). Can someone at least just answer me when reservations become available and how hard they are to get?

Also I read somewhere that if a reservation isn't available that getting to the basillica around 4 pm is a good option to avoid the long line. Can anyone confirm?

We'll be in Venice June 5-8 if that makes a difference :)

Thanks all!

Hi you can suspect lines to Basilica to be incredibly long on almost any day and time of the day :) That is a very popular place. Are you using this link? Not working for me either

Last time we booked the tickets that was at least a month ahead of the date of visit. Make sure to buy skip the line as well. Extremely crowded place.

Yes that’s the link. Glad it’s not just me :)

Thanks for your response! Skip the line is the plan once I can get into the site, lol

Thanks Kathy! I did try a search so as not to post a redundant question but I didn’t see that post.

That's OK, Nettie. You get points for trying. :O)
It may not have come up in a search depending on how "basilica" was spelled.

I'm in the same boat trying to make a reservation and just came across this post and thought I should share:

I emailed them on the tickets and below is the response i got..

thank you for contacting us, unfortunatly those tickets are not available yet.

The management of the Basilica di San Marco changed and we are still waiting to know from them if the skip the line tickets for Bell Tower and Basilica will still exist or not.

The access to the Basilica is free of charges instead the ticket for the Bell Tower can be bought directly on spot.

We will inform our clients as soon as we get information from Procuratoria di San Marco."

I guess we just have to wait & see :)

Thanks so much for asking this question. It looks like we will have to wait a few more weeks before we know anything. We will be there at the end of April and I wanted to get this taken care of sooner rather than later!
