I'd appreciate any input anyone would have regarding weather and activities at Lake Como during the mid-to-late spring. We're hoping to go use Varenna as our base, but are not sure what to expect in late April or early May. Thanks for your help. Chris

Hi chris. According to weatherbase.com for the town of Como, average high is low 60s and it rains about half of the days. Enjoy your trip!

Last time I was in Como in mid-May it rained every day for three days, but not all day long. I took the ferry around the lake anyway.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I'd checked the weather service, but wasn't sure where Lake Como has its own microclimate, or not.

I stayed in Tremezzo on Lake Como for 4 days in early May of 2014. There was some rain, but also plenty of warmth and sunshine. We were able to use the outdoor heated pool at our hotel and I remember wearing shorts one day as well.
None of our days was a wash out, and that area is beautiful no matter what the weather. Enjoy!
