Spring Truffle Hunting in San Miniato

Is the excursion worth the time and expense? I'm seeing prices of $150-$180 or more per person, and for two this is an expensive excursion in April 2019. We would take a 7-10 hour guided excursion with a provided ride from Florence to San Miniato, a 1.5-2 hour truffle hunt in the woods, a several course truffle lunch, a stop for free time in San Miniato, and a wine tasting on the return to Florence. It's not the season of THE white truffle but of a springtime variant. I'm not even positive I like truffles, but I suspect I do.

The alternative is to sit and relax in Florence. No real sights to see since we've been to Florence and seen quite a few sights. Haven't seen the Galileo Museum so we could do that in place.

Would the Florentine mosquitos be in the San Miniato woods? That could be a deal breaker.
