Sports coat in Venice

Anyone got a recommendation where I might pick up a modestly prices Sports Coat off-the-rack in Venice? I'm 66 so it doesn't need to be too trendy.

That Coin is a good suggestion, JustTravel, one that had escaped me. I didn't realize no mens' stuff at the H&M. The Coin is at Cannaregio 5787
and their phone number is 0415203581 The web page for the Venice store is here.

There's an H&M between S Marco and Rialto, most of the way to Rialto. Details are: (from the H&M website) Campo San Luca 4473/4476C 30124 Veneto Venice (VE) Italy
+39-0412413165 If they can't help, maybe they can suggest somewhere. Its not the biggest H&M in the world, but I bet its the only one adjacent to a canal (not the Canale Grande) and with a footbridge adjacent to the front door.

That H&M was strictly a women's clothing store as of January 2012 when we were there. The Coin (not too far from the Rialto bridge, San Marco side) store does carry men's clothing. I am not sure if the prices are "modestly".

Venice is a great place to WEAR a sport coat! 10+ Years ago, an Italian friend suggested we wear "sport coat" attire when visiting Murano. When we asked why, he just smiled. So on our next trip to Venice we rode the train, sport coat in hand. When we headed over to Murano, dressed in sport coat, khakis, Italian shoes, my wife in a nice dress... we were immediately met by all the Glass-works "greeters" when we got off the Vaparetto. We'd been often so we knew the drill... But this time it was different. We were taken on behind the scene tours in three separate glassworks. No high pressure sales and we got to meet privately with glass-workers, managers, and of course, sales-people. We ALMOST bought a chandelier (but I talked my wife out of it - now I wish I had not). So in this case, clothes "do make the man" as I'd never been separated from the pack like that. From that experience, many, many years ago, we choose have a set of clothes available, and yes it DOES often make a difference. For example, I've been invited to separate areas of churches in Rome, kitchens of restaurants in Naples, and into a closed wing of the Palazzo Barberini! I get better tables in restaurants and I believe, better service... And I met some great folks - they were even more impressed when they found out I lived in Italy and I choose to dress, well... like an Italian would! So dress for success does carryover to other cultures and I wish now I'd bought MORE Italian clothes - especially sport coats.
