Has anyone attended the Spoleto Festival in Spoleto, Italy recently? We know that there has been a change in management, and we cannot get any information about this year's program, i.e. the program for the summer of 2011. Any information about the viability of this summer festival would be appreciated.

Here is the official website for the festival: www.festivaldispoleto.it/ You were probably looking at the one hosted by the Menotti family.(I was, too! It took me awhile to find the official site.) It looks as though it will be going on as planned in 2011, although I'm not sure if this info is too late for your trip, as you posted this awhile ago. if you are going to be in Italy a little later than this festival is occurring, might I suggest attending the CCM Spoleto festival? It's much smaller, only its second year (prior years it was held in Lucca), it is a festival run through the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, and while there is opera, there are a ton of instrumental and vocal chamber concerts, as well as an large orchestral performances. Enjoy your trip!
