Splitting Capri Private Boat Tour - June 3

My boyfriend and I are interested in booking a private boat tour of Capri Sunday, June 3rd. However the price is out of our budget for two people. I have read the many critical reviews of Motoscafisti di Capri on tripadvisor, especially having to push and shove your way onto a boat.

In contrast, other companies - Gianni's, Blue Sea Capri, etc. have excellent views, but as they are private cost approx 250 euros for 2 (compared to 32 euros on Motoscafisti di Capri).

Here is a link of Blue Sea Capri boat:

250 euros per boat for 4 hours. Up to 6 people. Meet at Marina Grande (Port of Capri) 9am or 1pm. Preferably morning.

Any chance another party would be interested in joining our group and splitting the costs?

Also the Mondo shared tour from Sorrento to Capri is completely booked 6/3 as of 5/12. We will be in Positano, Cetara, and Salerno May 29th - June 3rd and can be flexible for the boat tour.

Thank you so much!

Just a comment, Michelle?

If you can't find someone to split the cost of Gianni's or Blue Sea, the reviews for Motoscafisti di Capri are not THAT bad, and of course there's going to be a difference between a 32 and 250-euro tour. The biggest issue people appear to have/have had with Motoscafisti is not understanding about the Blue Grotto and that access to that attraction is managed by a separate company: Motoscafisti can only get you there and then you have to wait to transfer to the rowboats. The tour company has been pretty responsive on TA to reviews which complain about long waits, surly rowboat operators, etc. It's not their fault.

I don't recommend that particular attraction anyway because of the long waits just for a few minutes inside. There's no guarantee that it's even accessible on any given day depending on how high/rough the seas are.

Anyway, I wouldn't assume that, if you decide on the less expensive tour, it's not going to be a decent value for the $. I would just choose not to go for the extra-cost grotto option. Additionally, with some advance reading and just taking a ferry over and back, the island itself is not difficult to sightsee without a tour at all although it will be very busy during high season.

Hi Kathy - Thanks for clarifying the negative reviews are related to miscommunication at the Blue Grotto. However we would love to experience Capri on a private boat. We also plan to hike Lido del Faro for the sunset and stay on the island overnight.
