What are some of the must sees and dos? Including Restaurants? There will be 5 of us. We will be relying on taxis, ferries or walking.
This area in Italy is completely new to us. We are very excited!

In terms of things to do, other than relaxing at the beach or at a restaurant or bar while you enjoy your favorite fish dish (or glass of wine or limoncello), and some shopping, there isn't much to see in Positano. Of course Positano is so quaint and stunningly pretty that in itself will be plenty to see.
Nearby however there are plenty of other things to see on day trips:
- Day excursion to Capri (boat)
- visit to Pompeii excavations (bus+train)
- visit Ercolano (bus+train)
- visit the top of the Vesuvius (train+bus or taxi).
- visit to Amalfi and its cathedral (bus or boat)
- drive of the Amalfi coast (bus)
- Ravello (bus)
- Swimming at the beach (walk or bus if farther)
- Excursion to Ischia or Procida (boat).
- Excursion to Naples (bus, train, or boat)
- Visit Sorrento (bus, boat) in the evening
Unfortunately one week is not enough to visit everything, but you could pair some in one trip such as:
- Pompeii+ Ercolano
- Naples + Vesuvius
- Amalfi + Ravello + Amalfi Coast drive
- Ischia + Procida

If you're going to spend a whole week in the area, you should get Rick Steves Snapshot Naples and the Amalfi Coast: http://travelstore.ricksteves.com/catalog/index.cfm?fuseaction=product&theParentId=155&id=419. This will have all the transportation and sightseeing details you will need (although I don't believe it covers Procidia or Ischia).
