I've been looking for a hotel in Rome (for 3 days)during March 25 - April 4 but many are full. Is there a special event? Easter is not until the mid-April.

I found lots of avilability issues for October and I booked in January. Here's what I did and it worked out great... I used Priceline. I put in the region I wanted (there are 5 I think in Rome), I asked for 4 star and bid low. When I didnt get a room, I signed on as my husband and tried again. Eventually I got a fab hotel, Mecenante Palace for $235 p/n, includes breakfast. 4 star right by Termini. Plus, it was american dollars, so that saved a lot! You can go for less stars and bid less if you want to. I find I have great luck with the name your own price thing. I also recently for the Hilton Molino Stucky (5 star) in Venice for $235. Turns out they were having a special at that price and I could have gotten it direct.. but I never would have known without Priceline. LOVE that it is is American dollars instead of Euros.
