We will be celebrating my parents' 50th wedding anniversary in Italy the first week of August. I am looking for suggestions for a nice restaurant for a celebration dinner. Expensive is okay, but we will be a party of 11 including 5 kids (ages 10-15), so not so fancy that the kids will be inappropriate. We will be staying in a villa in Liguria; the closest city is Chiavari. I think anything along the coast between Sestri Levante and Santa Margherita Ligure would be pretty close, and even as far as Cinque Terre or Genoa would probably work. I know I will need to verify that restaurants are open in August, although my understanding is the beach areas are more likely not to take August off. Thanks!

Kathy - I am going to be in that area this fall and I love to eat so I have done some research on this. We are going out of our way to get to Chiavari so that we can eat at Luchin. They have a website. Also divina cucina (just google that for her website) writes a great blog and reviews Luchin. Just reading it makes me hungry! Have fun.
