Special dinner in Rome

The very last evening of my trip to Italy in May also happens to be a milestone birthday. Anyone have suggestions for a restaurant that would be memorable? BTW, this will be on a Monday and it looks as if many places close. It would be nice if it were easy to get to from our hotel near trevi fountain... Thanks in advance!

We went to Alfredo's near the Spanish Steps and shopping area. We had a reservation for our anniversary. My Italian hubby makes a mean alfredo but we just had to do it at the original...... We were seranaded by a couple of guys with a guitar and violin and sat outside on a beautiful evening in September. The waiter made a big flourish of preparing the Alfredo tableside. It was fun... but I don't need to go back. Afterall, I have a great chef at home. Congrats!

La Taverna degli Amici
Piazza Margana, 37, 00186, Rome Italy Came upon this spot after a morning of visiting Palatine Hill, the Colosseum and Victor Emmanuel Monument. Took a "wrong" turn to discover this quiet square. A lovely ivy covered building with patio seating caught me eye immediately. Wonderful meal but thinking of the prawns and apple appetizer still takes me back to falling in love with Roma.
