Just read an article that the steps will be closed to pedestrians until December 7th, 2015, after which a side ramp will be opened to allow access to tourists.

Good to hear. I have been checking the Rome webcam and saw that the steps were closed, but glad to hear that they will be refurbished. Can't wait to see the refurbished Trevi and Spanish Steps next year. Thanks for the info.
