Has anyone stayed at, or know of any good spa towns near Rome? I will be there at the end of March (finishing a 2+ week tour), will not have a car, and will need public transportation. I live in the high desert, on the outskirts of Santa Fe, and would appreciate a long, deep soak in mineral water before heading home!! Thanks in advance!

There are several especially near Viterbo, but without a car the most convenient is probably the Terme di Roma-Acque Albule in Tivoli.
Thank you, Roberto! I will look it up. An Italian friend recommended Abano Terme (which looks great), fairly close to Venice, but I can't work Abano into my itinerary.

Fiuggi is a spa town nearish to Rome. It has a train station, so I assume you could (eventually) get there via local trains. I enjoyed a few days in the town a while back, but didn’t partake of any spa treatments. There is also a spa right near Fiumicino airport, the QC Termeroma. My sister has been and loved it. Certainly convenient on your way home.
P.S. you don’t have to stay at the QC hotel to use the spa facilities. It’s very pricy. Many of the small hotels in Fiumicino offer a day pass and shuttle service to the spa.
