Souvenirs and gift.

My pictures and memories are always my favorite souvenirs but is there anything I came bring home from Italy that would make a nice gift to pet sitter and our daughter. Anything you wished you’d brought from Venice or Florence or Rome?

Cameos from Naples, but usually available in good jewelry stores throughout the country. If you see one in Venice that you absolutely love, then buy it there. Don't say, "I'll see a better one, or a cheaper one, or a prettier one in Naples, or Sorrento," or wherever you are going. Carpe Diem, or Carpe Cameo, or whatever.

Venice - earrings from Murano glass (usually inexpensive). I buy several, actually, I buy them everywhere, just so I can say "these came from ...."
Anything ceramic, little dishes, kitchen items, etc.

My husband always brings home meats and cheeses, lol.

We bought Murano glass cat with a goldfish in his belly for our pet sitter (approx 10 EUR). I hope it is not made in China, it came with a card that said authentic Murano glass and it was purchased in a glass shop on Murano.. In Rome I purchased a MEC (Military European Company) watch each of my last 2 trips. They are made and sold only in Italy, and they claim to be military grade (approx 230 EUR). The shop is located near the Pantheon, if you are facing the front of the Pantheon, the shop is over your left shoulder down the alley by a gelato shop. If a watch is too much, they also sell nice pens (approx 20 EUR). Shop owners were very nice too.. Florence = leather wallet!!

We bought some artisan chocolates and the taste was awesome!

There are many shops in the town, such as La Bottega del Cioccolato at 82 Via Leonina

I've brought linens home from Rome and Milan from Canetta. Lovely dish rags (what we would call dish towels). Also, table runners, tablecloths, placemats. Apparently there are two locations in Rome. They are more aimed at fabric, needlepoint, embroidery, but if your pet sitter or daughter has any interest in hand crafts, this might me a good stop. High quality and wonderful customer service. Wished I had splurged for the full size tablecloth that would have worked for my dining room table.

On a whim, we spent a few hours at the Sea at Ostia Lido. We picked up handfuls of beautiful travertine stones and beach glass to share with our family and friends. Our gifts were a huge hit with everyone! They were the perfect gifts/souvenirs - small, special and free. I was literally able to give my Sisters a little piece of Italy ❤

Leather goods: wallet, small purse, key chains with leather fob. There are nice leather journals in Florence. I have also brought home silk ties, bags of Martelli pasta, tablecloths, panforte from Siena, Perugia chocolate, and Murano glass beaded bracelets.

For many years I have worn watches from Venice. The face is surrounded by flowers made of millifiore glass. They’re inexpensive and come on a cheap “leather” band, which I replaced once I got home. But people comment all the time how beautiful the watch is. If you want to see what they look like, here’s a link: https://www.glassofvenice.com/murano-glass-jewelry/murano-watches/murano-millefiori-watch-with-leather-band-blue-p-703.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwtIXbBRBhEiwAWV-5noCPWbHXlGfbH94eaxYPqnmgX_Ri-2RSBFJZqx1gl8PfDzTCawOp_hoC2uYQAvD_BwE
