Southern Italy in November

Hello! We are joining an RS tour in southern Italy this November. It ends in Naples on Nov 15. We would like to take another 4 days decompressing somewhere on the coast before heading home. We do not want to have to fly somewhere so would like to be able to get there via ferry or train. I was thinking maybe Capri and I found a nice looking apartment rental in Capri town. However, the more I look into it, most things seem to close up there in mid-October. We are looking for quiet and scenic with some exploration on foot, but of course still need some restaurants, shops to be open. Any ideas for us? Thanks!

Would you feel comfortable playing it by ear? If the weather is sub-optimal, Naples is really the best place to stay for tons to do. If you encounter wonderful weather, then consider any of the islands if you want r&r and not sight-seeing but outdoor activities. In even the smallest villages, there will be at least one restaurant open.
Salerno is a popular option for a smaller city, but given you have already seen the coast and Paestum, it would not be as big a draw for me as the opposite extremes of Naples or a tiny village.

If flying out of Naples, you will most likely need to be in Naples at least the last night.
Another option is any of the towns of the Cilento region, but it is more difficult by public transport so I would suggest only if you want a get away from it all kind of experience.

Hello,
You may want to stay in Ischia- it is an island with year-round residents, thermal waters and spas, and some say it is even nicer than Capri. I suggest that or maybe Procida. Ferrys are available all year round from Naples.
