South of Rome

What is your favorite destination south of Rome that does not have to do with beaches as I will be traveling in early March next year. I thought heading south might give me better weather.

We're doing exactly this next week. I had the same worries. There is plenty to see and do that don't involve beaches...Mt. Vesivius, Pompeii, Isle of Capri, Blue Grotto (weather permitting), and of course, the bus ride along the coast visiting the different towns. The only thing that doesn't run is the ferries that run along the coast. So I guess it's the bus to and back. I've been watching the weather and it appears to be around 60 degrees (warm enough for me) but there seems to be plenty of showers that come in & out. But it doesn't look like long periods of rain with periods of sun too. I can write you when we return to let you know how we made out if you're interested....answer any questions you may have.
