After 3 nights in Sorrento, my husband and I have allotted one full day to travel to Rome. Do you think it would be possible to tour Pompeii in the morning and then see the Naples Archaeological Museum on our way there? (If not, we can always visit Pompeii during our time in Sorrento- but since it's on the way to Rome I'd rather save time and money this way if it makes sense.) What do you think?

Pompeii in the morning is doable. We did it in about 3 hours on our way from Sorrento to Abruzzi. We skipped Vesuvious and Naples as the trash fires last summer were too choking. (I believe that issue has been lessened now.)
