Sorrento to Positano, Sorrento to Ischia

We are traveling to Italy in about a week and were looking for suggestions on best method of travel. We will be staying in Sorrento and plan to spend one day in Ischia and one day in Positano. What would be the best and most economical method of travel to Ischia, then Maronti beach? The following day we are planning a visit to Positano, any recommendations on how to get there and must see spots? Thanks in advance!

For Positano, take the ferries unless the seas are too rough for the boats to dock. Here are the current ferry schedules:

Honestly, Positano is pretty small and doesn't have much if any " must see" spots. It's largely where people go just to enjoy the beach or generally hang out. There are some shops to cruise, and the views are very pretty but that's about it.

Ischia is only accessible by ferry...I don't recommend Maronti beach for a day trip...it is lovely but is just a beach, no town, and will take 40 min to 1.5 hours to get there from the main port with traffic....which will be tante tante! :)

You can take the ferry to Ischia from Sorrento. Use the same site Kathy posted. Please note the days each ferry time slot runs. Ischia can also be accessed via the ferry Sorrento>Capri>Ischia.

Thank you for posting this question as I'm looking to do the same! I noticed the return ferry is pretty early. Anyone have advice on getting back to Sorrento from Positano in case we want to enjoy dinner in Positano?

at positano, a must do is to take your swimmers and have a swim, so you can view the town from the water.( we did this again in may) also if you are at the beach, facing the water, take the small path ( near the ferry dock) around to the next beach. not a 'must do' but a nice walk/scenery thing to do.
hope this helps.
