Sorrento to Naples Ferry 2021

We will be in Sorrento in the middle of October and want to take the ferry to Naples. I have read all the posts about availability and checked out the links. As near as I can tell there will be no ferry service between these 2 points in October (and may not be now). Am I missing something? Is there a problem because of COVID? I know I can always take the Circumvesuviana train, but we are looking forward to the ferry ride.

We'll be there in late September and were hoping to take ferry from Naples to Sorrento as well so I have been watching the schedules.
Right now they are only showing 2 ferries a day- 9, 5:15- but indicates that is til June 30- haven't updated it yet.

The Alilauro site only lists those 2 as well but is confusing because it says til 6/30 in 1 place and til 7/12 in another place.
https://www.alilauro.it/en

Anyway- from this site:
https://www.sorrentoinsider.com/en/ferry-schedule?from=napoli&to=sorrento#

Here is the estimated schedule April thru October
https://www.sorrentoinsider.com/en/ferry-schedule?from=napoli&to=sorrento&all=1
6 ferries a day

Also says under "Schedule"

Ferry routes run during the tourist season from the beginning of April through October. During the winter months, the only ferry routes active are those between Sorrento and Naples, and Naples or Sorrento and the islands.<<

So the Naples-Sorrento ferries do run year round as weather permits.
At this point I am just checking the schedules every few days to see if anything gets updated. We want to take ferry at about 1 pm- not 9 am so if no changes we'll take the train. We were really looking forward to ferry as well.

It is always a problem to find Sorrento and AC ferry schedules online, especially well in advance. At a marina, you cannot rely on the ticket booth for one ferry company to tell you that another company might be going to the same place, an hour before the ticket they are about to sell you for THEIR ferry.

Christine, I made a small change to the helpful website you linked as it looks like the OP wants the ferry FROM Sorrento TO Naples instead of the other way around?

https://www.sorrentoinsider.com/en/ferry-schedule?from=sorrento&to=napoli#

That said, it is also currently showing just two runs per day (8:10 and 16:25), and NaplesBayFerry.com (another reliable resource) is showing the same.

https://www.naplesbayferry.com/en/t/sorrento/napoli

That said, as tourism in the region - and to Italy in general - picks up, it's possible they'll add more runs. Still, mid-October is edging towards the end of the season so who knows.

If you defiantly want to use the ferry, you can travel Sorrento-Capri then Capri- Napoli.
It will however cost about double. Short waits between ferries.

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, there are 2 ferries shows, but when you try to book them you get the message: The crossing Sorrento-Naples Beverello is not available. I don't believe that there is anything available except via Capri.

well dang- I never even tried to book since we've got til Sept. That is weird. Both sites I checked give same message. I wonder if it's just because it's too soon? schedule not settled yet?

I'll just continue to check- I just think they've got to start running more on that route (or even some?)
