Sorrento to Naples airport 9am flight

Is it doable on a Wednesday in April to take the train from Sorrento to catch a 9am flight? From what I can see it appears there is an early train (if I was reading the schedule correctly) around 5am or so getting in around 6am.

Otherwise is there a easy/cheap hotel near the train or airport?

Thanks for any input.

The earliest train I see at the moment (see linked winter schedule) departs from Sorrento at 5:30 and arrives at Napoli Porta Garibaldi (basically attached to Napoli Centrale) at 6:44. You should be able to be on a taxi by 7:00 and the airport is close to the city center so 15-20 minutes later you should be at the airport. I don’t know if a check in a little over 1.5 hours before the flight would be comfortable enough for me. Generally I prefer to be closer to the airport on the night before a flight. The NAP airport is so close to the city center that virtually any hotel in the city center would be within 20 min from it by taxi. Another alternative would be a private car service from Sorrento directly to the airport. It would be faster overall but it would set you back at least 100 or 120€

For a 9AM flight out of Naples, I wouldn't even think about this, but I like Christine's idea of the Curreri Viaggi bus. In March 2017, we left Sorrento station at 8AM, arriving Naples at 10:15 after a bottleneck in Castellammare di Stabia. Made a 12;30 Lufthansa flight to Munich with no problem whatsoever.

If you can secure a later flight out of Naples, there are plenty more options.

One thing that will be consistent about the transportation in the region is the inconsistency. I'd seriously think about being in Naples the night before.

The Curreri Viaggi Buss is a much better option than the train but unfortunately it doesn’t leave Sorrento until 6:30a so arrives at NAP with only an hour to spare. If that’s comfortable for you great.

I'd highly recommend spending the night before the flight in Naples.
The transportation systems in the area have been underfunded for ages, and the result can be transportation chaos, gridlock, and frustration, especially from Sorrento. April is now part of high season, so the area will already be very crowded.
That being said, recognize the realities on the ground, plan for them, and have a great trip!

Where does the flight go? If it goes to a non-Schengen destination you are almost guaranteed to have a sad ending to this endeavor. . For a flight to a Schengen destination, I would not want to have to consume that much TUMS to keep my stomach happy..

Checked bags?

What schedule are you looking at? I cannot find anything earlier than a 530AM departure that takes arrives 643AM. Arriving at the airport by 7 would be doing extremely well.

Add me to the chorus of ' be in Naples the night before'
