sorrento to naples

This is my first time to Southern Italy. I need to go to Naples for business purposes, but read in RS book that it is best to stay in Sorrento. Could someone please tell me how long it takes to get from Sorrento to Naples. Also, would I drive, take a bus or what? Lastly, any favorite hotels to stay in Sorrento (not super pricey, but nice and clean). Thank you.

The private Circumvesuviana commuter train is your most frequent and fastest means to travel between Sorrento and Naples. The trip takes about an hour. For the timetables go here.
