I am staying in Sorrento in September. I want to take the ferry either to Ischia and/or Procida for a day trip. I know I should spend more time on the islands but cannot. Is it possible to hit both islands for one long day? Or better to choose one and enjoy? And as a solo traveler which is suggested? I do like to tour and see the history. I do like thermal baths. Not a big fancy shopper. And love to take in the culture. Beach time is also good but not necessary. Thanks for your thoughts.

If you have to choose one, it sounds like Procida would be more to your liking. It’s more laidback, less touristy than Ischia, which has a lot of fancy, expensive shops. It might be possible to do both in one very long day, but that might be rather exhausting. You would have to check boat schedules before making that decision.
