Can someone help me with ideas, travel times, best way to get from Sorrento to Cinque Terre region?....6 adults....hope to travel June 10-24. Thanks!

This site gives you the various travel options. I chose Vernazza as the destination just as an example. Besides the Circumvesuviana, there are other options from Sorrento to Naples. Depending on your budget, you could also take the Campania Express, a ferry, a bus, a taxi, or a private driver.
For train schedules and fares for your Naples to CT town route, go to the Trenitalia website. Trenitalia is the Italian train company. Be sure to use the proper Italian place names. (ie: Napoli, not Naples).

When I went the other direction a few years ago (Levanto to Sorrento), I took an early train from Levanto to Naples and then the Circumvesuviana (commuter train) to Sorrento. As CJean says, you could also take the Campania Express train to Naples.
See www.trainline.eu to check the schedule between Naples and the CT (whichever town you will stay in in the CT, anyway).
