Sorrento? Positano? Amalfi? Oh My!

Heading to the Amalfi Coast for 3 days to end our 2 weeks in Italy. Seriously can't decide which town to stay in. Looking for a very relaxing "beach vacay" to end it all. Would love your thoughts and recommendations! Thanks

If you are only interested in working on your tan then Positano is probably your best bet. If you are interested in exploring the region and visiting sites like Pompeii then Sorrento is the best choice. Personally, I would choose Sorrento. It is a fantastic town, but there is not much of a beach to speak of.

We spent 3 days in Positano and took the bus to Amalafi and Ravello on one of the days and sat on the beach for 2 days- it was the end of our trip and was well worth the time to relax. La Tavalossa has rooms - ask for one with a balcony and bathroom in the room- The view is specatular from the Balcony and is in mid town.

Saying that Sorrento is also a great town a little busier - if you stay there be sure to go down to the old fishing village for dinner.

We've stayed at Hotel La Tonnarella in Sorrento 3 times and love it, love Sorrento as well. The hotel has a private beach w/lounge chairs - perfect for swimming, tanning and relaxing.

Sorrento has no beach? Wha....?

It has several beaches. Some private and a public one.

Sorrento gets bad press because it IS a tourist town. Its still a very beautiful town.
