Sorrento Overnight Parking?

We will be heading to the Amalfi Coast in late September and plan on staying in Sorrento for 5 days and we will have a car. I know Rick's book recommends the Achille Lauro garage, but there are a few others. My question relates to the rates: what I have found on some of the travel sites for Sorrento is the daily parking rates are 23-27 EUR but the hotels advertise parking if you stay there for 15-18 EUR/day. Is this because the hotels give you a discounted rate? Or am I missing something?

Not sure I truly understand your question.

Since you are asking, I 'assume' the hotel you have chosen does not provide free parking.

If the hotel(s) you are looking at charge less than the parking garage rate for parking, I am lost on why you question this.

I solved the problem by choosing a hotel that had no additional charge for parking when I was there.

Sorrento (and the AC as well) have a large population in comparison with the number of meters of streets, which tend to be narrow anyway. Parking is not a competitive market there-there's a perennial shortage. You will be almost certainly be paying to park in each town you visit as well. It's not a pretty picture. We didn't have a car for our five nights at the Ambasciatori, but they certainly didn't have enough onsite parking for all the rooms to have a car.
