Sorrento- Not sure where to stay?

Hi, We will be in Sorrento 4th week of June.We are looking for accomodations. There will be 4 of us. I can't decide whether to stay in a Hotel Or B& B or Aparment. Also, whether to stay in the town center or up in the Hill. Our Budget if possible is 150 per room per night. Some walking is ok but up the hill might be quite hard unless we take Taxi or hotel shuttle depending on their schedule. Thanks.

Sally, You might check the Italy Guidebook to find a Hotel that fits your criteria, both in terms of location and price range. Two that you might look at are This Hotel or This Hotel. Both are within reasonably easy walking distance to the town centre, and both have a great view over the bay. For travel in June, I'd suggest getting something booked ASAP! Happy travels!

I've never been, but I'll be there in Sept 2011. I've done a crazy amount of research over a year's time...I know what's important to ME, and that is quiet, clean, fancy not necessary (esp. if I'm paying LOL), a view would be great but not for $$$, and I've got reservations at Il Nido. The shuttle bus will be fine for us (they even take you to/from the train/bus station for free during certain times of the day), they have washing machines, and I'm really looking forward to the peace and quiet there, as opposed to a more central location. Don't forget - you can look at Sorrento in Google Street View!!! You'll see exactly where your hotel is, and if there's a nightclub on the first floor :-( If you don't know how to use Google Street View/Maps, PLEASE let me know! Send me a PM... I was also looking at the Hostel Ulisse (sp?), but although that's more centrally located, it would mean ALOT more walking for my M-i-L. The rooms looked nice and big, though. Both get great reviews, but esp. Il Nido. Sounds like you've looked into it...I really want to try that orange juice all of the reviewers go goofy over LOL! I'm expecting QUIETLY great views from my hotel, but DRAMATICALLY great views from some of the restaurants and from our strolls through town!
Everything is a trade-off...
