We will be in Sorrento in late June. From reading the Wall, it seems there is a lot of affection for both Hotel Il Nido and Hotel Desiree. BOTH are available for our dates. Which would you choose?

Il Nido ... I'm actually going there in mid-June. I read through Rick's recommendations (Hotel Desiree being one) but chose Il Nido based on comments here and by the reviews on Trip Advisor. I have communiced with Il Nido several times to amend my reservation and they have been most gracious and accommodating. So far, they are living up to their stellar reputation.

Donna, I haven't stayed at Hotel Il Nido, but I quite enjoyed my stay at Hotel Desiree. The staff were wonderful and they have a nice rooftop terrace where guests can enjoy a glass of Vino in the afternoon sun and a great view of the ocean. Good luck with your decision and happy travels!
