Am cruising and dock in Sorrento from 8 AM to 11:30 PM. Am doing my "own" thing as a new photojournalist. Will walk through Sorrento in A.M. to get "THE" shots I want (manual and digital camera with). Want to go to Capri and Blue Grotto without 30 heads in pictures. What do you suggest. Also want to get to Naples. Once leaving Sorrento we go to Positano and not much time for anything but Positano while there. Will taxi along Amalfi coast. Suggestions, please? I'm not an expert on this particular area, but my suggestion with this kind of ambitious day arriving from a cruise ship - would be to hire a private driver. I think you can look at cruisecritic.com and see if anyone recommends a driver for you. I don't see that you will have a lot of time to spare with busses, etc. And you have to return to your cruiseship before the 1130om departure, so you must be very sure that you get back on time. You can also "re-post" a question on this board asking if anyone has a driver or guide (maybe that's important) they've used in this area.
