Maureen, You might have a look at the websites for Hotel Desiree or La Tonnarella. Both hotels are located right next to each other at the far end of town, and share a common beach. Hotel Desiree provides basic, clean and comfortable rooms. It has a great rooftop terrace for enjoying a glass (or two) of Vino in the warm afternoon sun, and it's not a difficult walk to the main part of town (although with luggage it would probably be advisable to take a Taxi from the station). La Tonnarella is more "upscale" and the restaurant has incredible views over the harbour (especially good at night with the cruise ships in port). You could also have a look at Settimo Cielo, which is closer to the main part of town. I haven't stayed there, so can't offer any comments. Happy travels!

The hotels that Ken mentions are among several on Via Capo along which there is a regular, every 20 minutes, town bus service ie the EAV "Linea A" route. Be aware that the period you are staying spans the Liberation Day (25 April) and May Day (1 May) national holiday period and the town will be buzzing with Italian as well as foreign visitors. Also be ready to pay 20 euro plus for the taxi ride from the station.

Hotel Antiche Mura. It is half a block off the main square. Great location. Friendly staff. Very nice ambience. We stayed there 5 years ago for our 25th anniversary. We will stay there again next time we visit Sorrento.
