We are planning on spending two days in Sorrento before our tour starts. We hope to be able to to explore Pompei on the way and spend the second day touring the Amalfi coast. Can anyone suggest a hotel in Sorrento?
We stayed at Hotel Mignon, right in city center, but on a quiet alley with no car access. Wonderful breakfast with outdoor patio seating. Small grocery store next door, and lot's of restaurants within walking distance and an easy walk to the train station.
I can't vouch for it yet but in April we're staying at Sersale Suites. Coincidentally, it appears to be a block away from Hotel Mingon as mentioned by the first poster.
When is your trip?
We stayed at Grand Hotel de La Ville and enjoyed it very much

Sorrento books up early so your best bet is to check booking.com and see what is actually available
Ooh, we stayed at Hotel Antiche Mura some years ago and loved it. No coastal view but a nice pool garden with a bar, great breakfast, and exceptional desk service. Just 1 block from Piazza Tasso but no issues with noise, and easy walking distance from the train station. Didn't miss the water views at all as we enjoyed plenty of those when out and about during the day!
It currently has a "Wonderful" rating on booking.com: my go-to for trusted reviews. :O)
