We were thinking of exploring Sorrento and the surrounding area Nov 4-11. Will businesses be shut down? It's our 30th anniversary.

We were there at just about the same time. Sorrento was still fairly lively. Positano was fairly quiet. Beaches were empty. I don't know if they ran fewer buses between Sorrento and the Amalfi towns, but the buses were crowded beyond capacity. Pompeii was still fairly busy.

I was there in the middle of Nov and it was still pretty lively and busses were frequent. The only thing I noticed was there were fewer ferries compared to the summer schedule.
