My wife and I are travelling to Italy in August and staying in Sorrento for 3 days. One day we'd like to see the towns where my grandparents were from -- Solofra (approx 50 miles from Sorrento) and Foiano di Val Fortore (near Benevento, another 50 miles away). Trying to find an affordable, reliable car service/driver who speaks good English to take us from Sorrento, along Amalfi coast, to these 2 towns. Maybe do some casual family searching, see some sites, return. Also, does anyone know if trains run to Solofra? Thanks for any help.

Have you contacted your hotel about a driver? We did the Amalfi coast drive by booking our driver through the hotel where we stayed.

Thank you for the suggestion - I have contacted the hotel, and they were helpful in finding a service. Not exactly cheap, but I am more open to trusting someone that works with a hotel regularly, as opposed to just a blind "shot in the dark". Didn't get much information from them about the towns we're looking at visiting, but apparently there's not a lot there anyway (pretty small).

We just got back from Sorrento and had a driver take us to the Naples airport. It was arranged though our hotel so I don't know what he charges himself, but he was super nice, spoke fantastic English and was really helpful. I only wish we had met him earlier in our travels.
