Any suggestions for going to Sorrento/Amalfi Coast in early March? Will the shops/restaurants be closed? Trying to decide on that area or Florence. Have been to Florence but only briefly. Thanks

We've been there twice in early March. Most everything is closed up in Amalfi & Positano, and in the other towns like Maiori, Minori & Cetara, only the locals are out & about. But...to me it's the perfect time to view the A.C., and since most of Sorrento is open, you can base there and take the SITA bus over to these towns, and it's like having the place to yourself.
Florence in early March is fine during the week, but weekends get pretty crowded. Everything is open & operational.

You may find some hotels in Sorrento closed for the season. There is such persistent demand from the foggy UK for Sorrento that I wouldn't assume they are giving the rooms away at the places that are open. We've only been there in the summer.
